Our Efforts To Date

Safe Non-Hazardous Cleaning System
Peerless Cleaners uses only Eco-Friendly
"Eco-Solve" & "DF-2000" cleaning fluid.
WE DO NOT USE ANY PERC SOLVENT OR PERC PRODUCTS!
This prevents several hundred gallons of hazardous & poisonous Perc solvent from being used and disposed of within our community. (More Info.)

Hanger Recycling Program
In November of 2007 we re-emphasized our hanger return program with our customers. At that time we began providing our customers with cardboard hanger caddies for their personal use. These caddies are used by our customers to easily stack and store hangers and then exchange the full caddies for an empty one at any of our store locations.
This effort has helped us to reduce our hanger purchases considerably and has resulted in approximately 12,000 to 15,000 pounds annually of hangers to be either reused or recycled rather than disposed of in local landfill sites.

Biodegradable Plastic Bags
In the Fall of 2008 we began using 100% Bi0-Degradable Garment Plastic Bags. We were the first to make this conversion and to date are the only area cleaners to do so. Our poly bags are both recyclable and biodegradable.

Internal Office, Employee and Facility Recycling

As a business we receive hundreds of cardboard boxes from our suppliers. All of these boxes are now stored and then disposed of at the local recycling center. In addition to recycling our cardboard we also recycle all office paper products, printer ink cartridges and we have reduced our paper consumption by converting to digital document storage. Lastly, our employees save and recycle all plastic & metal containers used within our plant production facility and store locations. These efforts have helped us reduce our
dumpster disposal by 50%. (More Info.)

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology
In May of 2008 we installed Hydrogen Fuel Cells in two of our vehicles. These fuel cells will help to reduce our vehicle fuel consumption by 30% - 35% and will greatly reduce the smog emissions of these vehicles. Once the testing is completed on the initial two vehicles we will be converting all of our vans & trucks to this gas saving technology.

Steam Boiler Conversion
In the Fall of 2008 we will be converting our Steam Boiler System from burning traditional diesel fuel to clean burning Natural Gas.
This conversion will allow us to no longer burn over 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel each month. This also will help us to greatly reduce our carbon footprint within Reno-Sparks. (More Info.)

Low Temperature Enzyme Laundry System
All of our customers shirts are processed using low temperature enzyme washing formulas and products. This has allowed us to reduce our water consumption by 35%, our heating costs by 15% and our sewer discharge by 35%. Using enzyme products also has allowed us to eliminate the use of traditional hazardous high alkaline detergent products. (More Info.)
